Our services

As functional aging specialists, we help older people preserve and maintain physical function so they may continue living fully and independently as possible. We offer:

 

  • Individual in-home functional fitness for older people

Functional Fitness is a combination of exercises designed with aging and active living in mind. Regular, progressive, functional exercises help older people preserve function, manage and maintain independence, prevent falls, and increase enjoyment in late life.

We focus on:

  • Fall prevention

  • Brain health

  • Maintaining independence

We begin with a telephone call to assess suitability and to book an in-home functional fitness assessment.  We work together to develop a personalized home-based activity program that fits mobility goals over time, adjusting the program as we go.  

 

  • Stand up to Balance

Core and leg strength is key to balance. Better balance is an option if that is your goal. Progressive exercises and fall prevention education. Individual and group programs.

   

  • Balancing life's PIEESS to live fully (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Expressive, Social, Spiritual) 

Embracing goals and opportunities for meaningful activities, interacting with people, having a purpose, questioning, experiencing moments of joy, satisfaction in solution finding, laughter, giving back, curiosity, engaging in play, expressing grief. finding a resolution, feeling safe, secure, supported and heard - - all contribute to a life worth living as long as we are living.

 

  • Personal coaching on handling age-related and end-of-life change (for seniors and their families)

What's normal? What's not?

Advocacy on behalf of individual seniors' quality of life/care/wishes/service  (within the care home, with health care providers, care partners, families, and friends,)

Advocacy for family support, communication, compassion, connection, safety and well-being

 

  • Additional services for our clients  (Pertaining to quality of life, home safety, and independence)

Could include shopping for specific home health aids, accompaniment to medical appointments, special events, advocacy, and so on.) Ongoing assessment and recommendations for safety and continued well-being,

 

  • Coaching and support for caregivers (partners, adult children, friends and other family members)

Caregiver information (considerations, skills, respite, and other family supports, links to other resources. Talk about aging, responsibilities, possibilities, grief, loss, staying connected, active and involved in late life considerations for seniors and their families.

 

Our fees:

When you engage Aging is Good you are hiring qualified, trained, Functional Aging Specialists dedicated to helping seniors' improve their safety and independence and quality of day-to-day life.

 

Fees for Functional Fitness are based on an hourly rate.

We also offer payment blocks for regular pre-planned sessions which we discuss.

Payment structure varies per Familial Support, Interactive Talks and Certified Training Programs.
